To build and strengthen parish pastoral service teams through solid structures within their various commissions and dimensions, living out the Church’s Social Doctrine (CSD) in the spirit of fraternity within a Synodal and Missionary Church, showing a Samaritan face and expressing within our Diocese a charitable Church that goes forth.

DIMENSION FOR SOCIAL PASTORAL MINISTRY – CARITAS

Diocesan Coordinator: Fr. Jorge de la Torre Rodríguez

Mission: We promote the processes of Social Pastoral Ministry through assistance, solidarity, and subsidiarity, supporting and accompanying individuals and communities through integral human development, charitable action, the defense and protection of life, justice, peace, and the pursuit of the common good, so that these values may always be present in the evangelizing mission of the Church.

Vision: To be recognized throughout our Diocese for our ability to transform every area of human life within society, becoming a point of reference for peace and reconciliation, the defense and promotion of the human person, human dignity, and human rights, as well as the care of creation, contributing to the building of the Kingdom of God.

Objective: To carry out this ministry according to the needs and challenges of our Diocese, deaneries, and parishes, coordinating areas of human development through responsible dialogue and collaboration, in order to assist and serve those who are most vulnerable, without distinction.

DIMENSION FOR THE PASTORAL MINISTRY OF FAITH AND SOCIAL COMMITMENT

Diocesan Coordinator: Lic. Wendy Canul Pech

Mission: To contribute to the building of a more just and supportive society that respects human rights by promoting the peaceful resolution of conflicts and processes of reconciliation through educational initiatives rooted in the values of the Gospel and the Church’s Social Doctrine, with a firm commitment to respecting human dignity and human rights.

Vision: To be agents of hope through peacebuilding and the promotion of active citizenship, developing skills and capacities within local Churches and creating platforms that strengthen these abilities both within and beyond the Church, while engaging politically and socially with decision-makers.

Objective: To promote a culture of peace, participation, and reconciliation in Mexico by developing effective peacebuilding processes within local Churches that contribute to restoring the social fabric.

DIMENSION FOR THE PASTORAL MINISTRY OF HEALTHCARE

Diocesan Coordinator: Lic. Adrián Pech Yamá

Mission: To foster a culture that values and protects life in all clinical and research fields related to human life and dignity, proclaiming the joy of the Gospel in order to build a society that provides a dignified, peaceful, and supportive life for all, especially the most vulnerable.

Vision: To evangelize society with a renewed spirit of charity, following the example of the Good Samaritan, through the individual and communal participation of the Church in service to life and human dignity.

Objective: To evangelize the world of healthcare and human suffering with a missionary and merciful spirit, strengthening and promoting the organization of healthcare pastoral ministry and thereby contributing to the building of a healthy, supportive, reconciled, and peaceful community committed to the service of life.

DIMENSION FOR PRISON PASTORAL MINISTRY

Diocesan Coordinator:

Mission: To proclaim the joy of the Gospel, seeking to foster the foundations for a society that offers a dignified, peaceful, and supportive life to all, especially the most vulnerable, through various individual and community initiatives inspired by the Church’s Social Doctrine.

Vision: To evangelize society with a renewed spirit of justice, peace, and charity through the individual and communal participation of the Church in service to life and human dignity.

Objective: To inspire, promote, and accompany a more prophetic prison pastoral ministry that reveals the merciful face of the Father and sheds the light of the joy of the Gospel upon the reality of incarcerated persons and their families, while promoting social reintegration and crime prevention.

DIMENSION FOR THE PASTORAL MINISTRY OF INDIGENOUS AND AFRO-DESCENDANT PEOPLES

Diocesan Coordinator: Fr. Diego Pat Cahún

Mission: In the light of the Gospel, to carry out a process of inculturated evangelization that fosters a dignified communion with Indigenous communities through pastoral initiatives that promote respect for and the dignity of our Indigenous peoples.

Vision: To evangelize society with a renewed spirit of peace, justice, and charity through the pastoral ministry of Indigenous and Afro-descendant Peoples, entering into communion with the diverse customs and traditions of these communities for the enrichment of the Church, its customs, and traditions.

Objective: To accompany the processes within our Diocese aimed at strengthening the identity of Indigenous and Afro-descendant Peoples through inculturated evangelization and comprehensive pastoral ministry, guiding them toward the establishment of “indigenous particular Churches,” so that these peoples may become active participants in their own evangelization and development. To promote the mission of the Church, which is to bring everyone the Good News of the Gospel and bear witness that Jesus is the salvation of the whole world, so that liberation and God’s saving plan may be fulfilled through processes of inculturated formation among Indigenous peoples.

DIMENSION FOR THE PASTORAL MINISTRY OF MIGRANTS

Diocesan Coordinator: Dr. Liz Marilyn Torres Leal

Mission: In the light of the Word of God and the Church’s Social Doctrine, to support the processes of evangelization and human development and, through the experience of faith and the active participation of migrants themselves, contribute to building a just, fraternal, supportive, and welcoming society that embraces those who are different as a sign of the Kingdom of God.

Vision: To be a diocesan Pastoral Ministry for Human Mobility that provides comprehensive accompaniment to individuals and communities affected by migration, working in coordination with civil society organizations and government institutions.

Objective: To develop processes that promote the integration and participation of pastoral ministers involved in human mobility through provincial gatherings and formation opportunities, motivating pastoral ministers to participate in ongoing formation in order to achieve a more prophetic and effective ministry within this dimension.

DIMENSION FOR THE PASTORAL MINISTRY OF TOURISM

Diocesan Coordinator:

Mission: The local Christian community, whose most direct expression is the parish, is the place where the pastoral ministry of tourism takes place. Within the local community, tourists are offered a Christian welcome that supports them in their life of faith, while every visitor is received with hospitality and without distinction. The community also helps Christians prepare for future travel or for their work in the tourism industry. From the local Church, a witness and collaborative effort are offered to promote the human and spiritual values that tourism can foster.

Vision: To be a Diocese that offers a full and welcoming experience to all visitors, without exclusion, recognizing the particular importance of the religious, cultural, and artistic heritage of our communities as a means of fostering communion.

Objective: The central purpose of the pastoral ministry of tourism is to create the optimal conditions that help Christians experience tourism as an opportunity for grace and salvation.

DIMENSION FOR THE PASTORAL MINISTRY OF CARE FOR OUR COMMON HOME

Diocesan Coordinator: DP Raymundo Sánchez Gordillo

Mission: To strengthen ecological spirituality by giving renewed meaning to the Gospel of Creation and accompanying processes of community organization, planning, and action for the care, preservation, and restoration of the social and environmental relationships within our Common Home, inspired by Laudato Si’.

Vision: To be a local Church in which the entire People of God actively seeks to care for the environment in the light of the Gospel.

Objective: To encourage processes of conversion, care, and restoration of ecosystems and human relationships, so that God’s creation may be returned to its Creator in the same condition in which it was entrusted to us.
