COMMISSION FOR FAMILY AND LIFE PASTORAL MINISTRY

Mission: To evangelize married couples so that they may participate more fully in the Word of God and the Sacraments, and through them feel called and empowered to carry out the evangelizing mission that flows from their Baptism.

Vision: To build a diocesan community that increasingly is and feels like a family, modeled after the Most Holy Trinity and inspired by the Holy Family of Nazareth. Through listening to the Word of God and living out the commandment of love, we seek to foster pastoral and missionary conversion from within the family itself, which is in such great need of evangelization and encouragement in its mission to evangelize.

Objective: To work so that every family, apostolate, and parish community may experience the life of the first Christian communities, gathered around Christ in the Eucharist, united in prayer and in living out the commandment of love. In this way, they may experience a missionary impulse and evangelize through their own witness, beginning with all those who are part of their family, apostolate, or parish community.

DIMENSION FOR THE PASTORAL MINISTRY OF LIFE

Mission: The Pastoral Ministry of Life of the Diocese of Cancún-Chetumal seeks to promote and strengthen the “Civilization of Love and Life” throughout the parishes of the Diocese by establishing Parish Life Ministries made up of lay faithful who are committed to the Church.

Vision: By 2026, the Pastoral Ministry of Life aims to be a strong and well-established ministry that has guided the parishes of the Diocese in promoting and strengthening the “Civilization of Love and Life” within their groups, communities, and parish formation programs through the establishment of Parish Life Ministries made up of lay faithful committed to the Church.

Objectives:

To renew, in a transversal manner, through the Eucharist, prayer, ongoing formation, and dialogue with various social actors, each person’s commitment to love and protect every human life, especially the most vulnerable members of the human family.

To establish Parish Life Ministries on solid spiritual foundations rooted in prayer, knowledge and practice of the Sacramental life, and the Christian principles presented in the Gospel of Life, the documents of the Church’s Magisterium, and the Tradition of the Church.
